How do I connect Google Fit?
You can use this article to connect Health Connect and Google Fit to STEPPI.
IMPORTANT: Having multiple apps permitted in Health Connect may cause issues. To avoid conflicts, only allow either Samsung Health (if you use a Samsung Watch) or Google Fit, along with STEPPI. Please open Health Connect and check your app permissions to ensure only the necessary apps are enabled.
😀 Great for: Users who want to track steps from their Android Phone📱
To track your steps using an Android phone, connect STEPPI to Health Connect, and then activate Google Fit to share your data.
Before you get started, download the Google Fit app from the Play Store.
Set up is simple, follow these steps:
In the Choose Device screen in the STEPPI app, select Health Connect
Click Connect
When asked to provide access for STEPPI to read health data, toggle on Allow All
Click Allow
In the Health Connect screen, click on Fit
Click the Set Up button
Click Allow All
You will then be redirected back to the STEPPI app
You're all set, your data from Google Fit will now show on STEPPI.
Important Note: Some third-party app integrations with Health Connect do not currently support reading all data points. See the details below:
Google Fit: Active Minutes data is not currently accessible, meaning Active Minutes tracked in Google Fit will not appear in STEPPI.
STEPPI continuously reviews app integrations and will update data syncing capabilities as improvements become available.
Technical Tip: We recommend opening STEPPI every day to sync your steps when on a challenge 🏃🏼♂️

Activity Goals To Improve Health
Being active is important to our health, but how much or what kind of activity do you need?
Heart Points
Activities that get your heart pumping harder have tremendous health benefits for your heart and mind. You’ll earn one heart point for each minute of moderately intense activity, such as picking up the pace when walking your dog, and double points for more intense activities such as running. It takes just 30-minutes of brisk walking five days a week to reach WHO’s recommended amount of physical activity shown to reduce the risk of heart disease, improve sleep and increase overall mental well-being

However you move, make it count
From swimming to strolling, any activity that gets you moving makes an impact on your health. That's why Google Fit works with many of your favourite apps and health devices1 to give you credit for all your moves and provide a holistic view of your health.
