FAQS: Joining the DFC 30x30 Challenge on STEPPI


What is the DFC 30x30 Challenge?

The DFC 30x30 Challenge encourages teams to commit to tracking their steps daily for 30 days. The goal is to move more together, break away from sedentary habits, and promote overall well-being through friendly competition. A live teams leaderboard will track progress, allowing participants to see how they rank and celebrate collective achievements throughout the challenge.


How do I join the DFC 30x30 Challenge on STEPPI?


To join the challenge:

  1. Download the STEPPI app from the App Store or Google Play Store or Huawei App Gallery.
  2. Create an account using your personal details and follow prompts to pair your preferred connection to track steps.
  3. Follow set up instructions provided by your admin. If you are participating in the CITYWIDE challenge you will have received a TEAM CODE.

If you have a private company challenge the corporate registration instructions - open PROFILE > ORGANIZATION LOGIN - add your corporate email address or ORG CODE provided by

your company admin.

  1. Next navigate to the "ALL Challenges" section – find your challenge and click ‘JOIN’
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to join your team (note you may need to enter your team code if this has been provided by your company admin).


Do I need any special equipment to participate?

No, you don't need any special equipment. You can track your steps using your smartphone Android (Health Connect), iOS (Apple Health) and Huawei (Huawei Health) apps or connect to wearable devices like Fitbit, Apple Watch, or Garmin.


Can I connect my wearable device?

Yes! STEPPI integrates with most major wearable devices and health apps, including:

  • Fitbit
  • Garmin
  • Apple Watch
  • Health Connect for Android - including Samsung Health, Oura, Whoop and more.
  • Huawei Health

Simply connect your device or app to STEPPI, and your activity will be automatically synced from the app you have connected to when you open the STEPPI app or pull down on the home screen to activate the sync.


Can I change my fitness tracker?

Yes, you can change your preferred device at any time on the STEPPI app. Follow these steps:

Go to the 'Profile' tab on the STEPPI app.

Tap 'You Connected Via.'

Select your device of choice from the list and click 'CONNECT.'

Follow the prompts to allow STEPPI to track your data.

Go to the STEPPI home page and swipe down to sync your data.


If I change my device, will I lose my previously synced activity on STEPPI?

No, when you change your device, you will NOT lose any data. The STEPPI app will continue to track your steps using your new device once it's connected. However, you can only track data to your STEPPI account from one device at a time. Be sure to sync your data before changing devices. Note on the day of the change the total steps will only increase once you have superseded the steps from the previous device – it is not possible to double up your steps.


I have an issue with my teamcode

Each team in the DFC Challenge has a unique 4-digit team code. This code is specific to your team and must be entered in the STEPPI app to join.How to join your team:

  1. Open the STEPPI app.
  2. Go to the Challenges section.
  3. Select the correct DFC Leaderboard Entity — Corporate, Education, or Government.
  4. Tap Join and the “Enter Team Code” screen, input your 4-digit team code.
  5. Once submitted, you’ll automatically be added to your team.


If you’re getting an “Invalid Code” message:

  • Double-check that you’re joining the correct DFC Entity (Corporate, Education, or Government).
  • Ensure you’re entering the code in the challenge section, not on the profile of organization login page which needs the 6-digit code from your corporate admin — those areas will not accept the 4-digit team codes.
  • If you opened the wrong page, exit it, return to the correct challenge, tap Join, and re-enter your team code on the “Enter Team Code” screen.

If you still see the Invalid Code message after confirming the steps above, please reach out support@steppi.com - we can assist you further.


How do my steps sync to the STEPPI app?

STEPPI reads the data from the fitness app you connected to during set up, when you open the STEPPI app this automates a sync and will pull in your data. Please note - for wearable devices and smartwatches STEPPI connects to your device’s app on your mobile phone, not directly to the device itself. If there’s a discrepancy in your activity data, first check that your fitness app on your phone is synced with your device, then open STEPPI and swipe down to refresh the page.


How often should I sync my steps?

We recommend syncing your steps every day, especially when you're participating in a challenge, to ensure they reflect accurately on the leaderboard. You can also check previous days’ data by clicking on the activity icon on the homepage of the STEPPI app. If you forget to sync your steps when you open the app your previous day's steps data will automatically update to reflect on the home page and on the DFC 30x30 leaderboard.


Can I manually input my activity on STEPPI?

Yes, you can manually add your activity in the challenge. Simply select your workout, enter the duration, and tap Save. You can find this by going to the Challenge Board > Info > "Add Workout"


Please note that steps and active minutes cannot be added manually, as these are tracked automatically.



Can I create my own challenges on STEPPI?

Yes, we encourage people to get active with their friends and family. You can create private steps challenges by going to ‘My Challenges,’ selecting 'Create Private Challenge,' and following the prompts. Private challenges start at midnight on the same day they are created.


I’m having technical issues with the app. Who do I contact?

If you experience any technical issues, please contact STEPPI’s support team through the in-app HELPDESK, via the live chat on our website, or by emailing [support@steppi.com](). Our team will be happy to assist you.


How can I see my activity for DFC? 


To see your steps, active minutes and added exercises or workout in DFC Challenge


Go to DFC Challenge > Info > scroll down a bit > tap MY Team > select your profile - there you will see your activities


Im getting an Invalid Code message

Please make sure that you are also entering the code in the correct challenge. Go to Challenges > Select the correct DFC Entity (Corporate, Education or Government) then enter the 4 code assigned to your organization


If you have a private company challenge the corporate registration instructions open PROFILE > ORGANIZATION LOGIN - add your corporate email address or ORG CODE provided by your company admin.


Who can participate?

The DFC Challenge encourages everyone to get active — anyone can join!

Share your group code with your participants so they can join your team and start moving together!

What is the DFC challenge completion criteria?

The DFC 30x30 Challenge invites teams to stay active by tracking their daily movement for 30 days. Participants can complete the challenge in any of the following ways:

  • Walk or run 10,000 steps using your phone or wearable device
  • Achieve 30 active minutes tracked by your wearable
  • Manually log a 30-minute workout in the STEPPI app
