How does the STEPPI Teams Challenge work?

Each participant is assigned to a team, creating a dynamic mix of colleagues ready to step up to the challenge. Throughout the challenge, every step you take contributes to your team’s daily score, which accumulates over the course of the event.

At the end of the challenge, the team with the highest steps score claims victory, earning bragging rights and the satisfaction of knowing they’ve worked together to achieve something great! Whether you’re a beginner to fitness or fitness enthusiast, every step counts - it's all about teamwork!

Leaderboard Formula

It's all about daily averages. Each team's average step count is calculated, and added throughout the challenge as an accumulative challenge score. For example:

• Team Average, Day 1 = 1O,573 steps
• Team Average, Day 2 = 11,258 steps
• Team Average, Day 3 = 11,757 steps

Total score = 33,588 steps

The team with the highest total average step count at the end of the challenge wins. Challenge rules are available on the challenge details on the app.

STEPPI Teams Challenge FAQs

Q. How will I know when a challenge is starting?
A. You'll receive an email announcement from your company and a mobile app notification with all the details. Once the challenge is announced, you can head over to the STEPPI app and find it in the 'STEPPI Challenges' tab in 'ALL' Challenges. Challenges start at 12:00 am and end at 11:59 pm GST (Gulf Standard Time) on the last day.

Q. How do I join a challenge?
A. After completing your registration and connecting your phone or wearable to track activity data, go to the 'Challenges' tab, find the challenge, and click 'JOIN' Select your team from a drop-down box, or your admin may auto-assign you to a team before the challenge starts.

A. Prepare for the challenge by charging your devices, wearing your tracker or carrying your mobile phone with you every day. Only steps synced from the device connected to STEPPI will be included. STEPPI will track data from the new device starting from the last recorded steps of the previous connection, it is not possible to double up your steps.

A few things to keep in mind...

😃 Always play fair and with integrity
At STEPPI, we're committed to fostering a fair and positive challenge environment. While it's rare, we understand that some may be tempted to manipulate their activity trackers. We monitor for unusual activity, and if something raises a red flag, it will be brought to the company program manager’s attention and may result in disqualification. Let's keep it fun, honest, and focused on achieving our wellness goals together!

👎🏼 Avoid negative chats
Friendly competition is fun and helps build new friendships. Keep it positive by sending messages of encouragement and praise to colleagues and teams.
