Connect Xiaomi to STEPPI Teams

Connect Xiaomi to STEPPI Teams

What’s happening?

You want to connect your Xiaomi device to STEPPI Teams so your steps and activity are tracked

What you need before you start

  • A Xiaomi phone or wearable device
  • The Mi Fitness or Zepp Life (Mi Fit) app is installed
  • Health Connect is installed and set up on your device
  • The STEPPI Teams app is installed
  • An active internet or data connection

How it works

Xiaomi devices do not connect directly to STEPPI Teams

Your activity follows this path:

Mi Fitness / Zepp Life → Health Connect → STEPPI Teams

How to connect Xiaomi to STEPPI Teams

Step 1: Make sure your Xiaomi app is tracking steps

  • Open Mi Fitness or Zepp Life
  • Make sure your steps are updating

Step 2: Connect Xiaomi app to Health Connect

  • Open Health Connect
  • Make sure your Xiaomi app is connected

Allow it to write activity data (steps, distance, activity)

Step 3: Connect Health Connect to STEPPI Teams

  • Open the STEPPI Teams app
  • When prompted to connect a device
  • Choose Health Connect
  • Tap Connect

Allow STEPPI Teams to access your activity data

After connecting

  • Open your Xiaomi app and make sure your steps are updating
  • Open STEPPI Teams and pull down on the home screen to refresh

Your steps should appear shortly in STEPPI Teams

If your steps are not updating

  • Make sure your Xiaomi app is tracking steps correctly
  • Check that it is connected to Health Connect
  • Check that STEPPI Teams has permission to read data

If it still doesn’t work

  • Restart your phone
  • Open your Xiaomi app first, then STEPPI Teams
  • Disconnect and reconnect Health Connect
  • Make sure all apps are updated

Troubleshooting Xiaomi connection issues

Xiaomi is connected but steps are not updating

What’s happening?

Your Xiaomi device is tracking activity, but your steps are missing, delayed, or not updating in STEPPI Teams

Why this happens

This may happen if:

  • Your Xiaomi app is not writing data to Health Connect
  • STEPPI Teams does not have the required permissions
  • Health Connect is not set up correctly
  • There is a delay in syncing

How to fix it

1. Check Health Connect permissions

  • Open Health Connect
  • Make sure STEPPI Teams has permission to read activity data

2. Check Xiaomi app connection

  • Open Health Connect
  • Make sure your Xiaomi app is connected

Make sure it is allowed to write activity data

3. Check your Xiaomi app

  • Open Mi Fitness or Zepp Life
  • Make sure your steps are updating

STEPPI Teams can only sync data that exists in your tracking app

4. Refresh STEPPI Teams

  • Open the STEPPI Teams app
  • Pull down on the home screen to refresh
  • Wait a few seconds

Manually added data is not counted

Important to know

STEPPI Teams only reads physically tracked activity

Steps that are manually added or edited will not be counted

Why this happens

To ensure fair tracking, only real movement data is accepted

What to do

  • Wear your Xiaomi device while moving
  • Make sure your app is syncing regularly
  • Avoid manually adding step data

Still not seeing your steps?

If your steps are visible in your Xiaomi app but not in STEPPI Teams:

  • Refresh the STEPPI Teams app
  • Check permissions
  • Follow the troubleshooting steps above
