Connect Apple Watch to STEPPI Teams
What’s happening?
What you need before you start
- An iPhone
- An Apple Watch paired with your iPhone
- The Apple Health app (default on iOS)
- The Fitness app is set up on your iPhone
- The STEPPI Teams app is installed
- An active internet or data connection
How it works
Your Apple Watch does not connect directly to STEPPI Teams
Your activity follows this path:
Apple Watch → Apple Health → STEPPI Teams
How to connect Apple Watch to STEPPI Teams
Step 1: Make sure Apple Watch is syncing with Apple Health
- Open the Fitness app on your iPhone
- Make sure your Apple Watch is paired and tracking activity
- Open the Apple Health app
- Check that your steps and activity are updating
Step 2: Connect Apple Health to STEPPI Teams
- Open the STEPPI Teams app
- When prompted to connect a device
- Choose Apple Health
- Tap Connect
Tap Turn On All and then Save
After connecting
- Open the Fitness or Apple Health app and make sure your steps are updating
- Open STEPPI Teams and pull down on the home screen to refresh

- Restart your iPhone and Apple Watch
- Disconnect and reconnect Apple Health in STEPPI Teams
- Make sure you are using the latest version of iOS and STEPPI Teams
Troubleshooting Apple Watch connection issues
Apple Watch is connected but steps are not updating
What’s happening?
Why this happens
This may happen if:
- Apple Watch data is not syncing to Apple Health
- Apple Health does not have the latest step data
- STEPPI Teams does not have the required permissions
- There is a delay in syncing
How to fix it
1. Check Apple Watch sync
- Open the Fitness app
- Make sure activity is updating
2. Check Apple Health data
- Open the Apple Health app
- Make sure your steps are visible
STEPPI Teams can only sync data that exists in Apple Health
3. Check Apple Health permissions
Go to iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → STEPPI Teams
Make sure all permissions are enabled
4. Refresh STEPPI Teams
- Open the STEPPI Teams app
- Pull down on the home screen to refresh
- Wait a few seconds
Manually added data is not counted
Important to know
STEPPI Teams only reads physically tracked activity from Apple Health
Steps or activity that are manually added or edited will not be counted
Why this happens
To ensure fair tracking, only real movement data is accepted
What to do
- Wear your Apple Watch while moving
- Make sure it is properly paired with your iPhone
- Check that activity is syncing to Apple Health
- Avoid manually adding step data
Still not seeing your steps?
If your steps are visible in Apple Health but not in STEPPI Teams:
- Refresh the STEPPI Teams app
- Check permissions
- Follow the troubleshooting steps above
