# Group Goal Challenge in STEPPI Teams

## What’s happening?

| You want to understand how the Group Goal challenge works and how progress and rankings are calculated

## How it works

In a **Group Goal challenge**, all participants work together to achieve a shared step target  

Progress is based on the total combined steps of everyone in the challenge

## How the leaderboard works

The leaderboard shows overall progress toward the group goal  

Progress is usually displayed as a percentage of the total target  

All participants contribute equally toward reaching the goal

## How scores are calculated

Group progress is calculated using:

**Total group steps**
= Sum of all steps recorded by all participants  

**Progress (%)**
= (Total group steps ÷ Group goal target) × 100  

Example:  
If the group goal is 1,000,000 steps  
And participants reach 500,000 steps → Progress = 50%

* Every participant contributes to the group total  
* There is no individual ranking in this challenge type  
* Sync your steps regularly to help the group progress  
* The goal is collective achievement, not competition
