Connecting My Fitbit to STEPPI

Follow these steps to connect your Fitbit to the STEPPI app.

To connect your Fitbit and get started, you will need to:

Complete the sign-up process on STEPPI; follow prompts to choose your device, select 'Fitbit.'
Click 'Connect'. This will open Fitbit on your mobile phone. Allow STEPPI to access your data by selecting the 'Allow All' box followed by 'Allow.' Your default setting may be set to allow for 1 day; we recommend changing this to 1 year
You can change your device of choice at any time by going to 'Profile' > 'You Connected Via' and then selecting the preferred device.

How to Sync my Fitbit

Once you have successfully connected your Fitbit to the STEPPI app follow this guide on how to sync your activity data.

Your Fitbit device connects to STEPPI through the Fitbit app.

To sync your steps, start by:

Open the Fitbit App
Sync with your Fitbit device
Open the STEPPI App on your phone and swipe down to sync.

Technical Tip: we recommend opening STEPPI every day to sync your steps when on a challenge

Troubleshooting

What if my steps don’t sync to STEPPI from my Fitbit?

If you have read and completed the steps to connect STEPPI to your Fitbit app and the data is still not syncing to STEPPI, find out the most common reasons here:

The authorization time from Fitbit has expired so Fitbit is no longer allowing the data to be shared, so you can reconnect your Fitbit to STEPPI – we recommend selecting allow for 1 year.
An issue occurs within the Fitbit cloud and data is not being tracked – we recommend closing the Fitbit app and opening again
If you have checked all of the above and the steps are not syncing, we recommend removing the device connection on STEPPI and reconnecting.
